With the start of 2015 I wanted to begin doing new things for my business and one of the first things I wanted to start doing was photograph newborns.

In the past I tried to photograph newborns with backdrops, props, etc. like a lot of other photographers and even though I thought this style was cute, I never liked doing it…at all. So I just kind of gave up on it and told myself, “Hey, newborns just aren’t your thing.” Well I told myself this for around 2 years and just kind of got sick of it. I don’t like telling myself there’s something that I can’t do. And then I realized that it wasn’t that I didn’t like to photograph newborns, it’s that I wasn’t interested in photographing newborns the traditional way and that’s okay.
So when this sweet couple emailed me from Memphis, TN asking me to take their newborn portraits I knew this was a good opportunity to start something new. I told them that I wasn’t the kind of photographer to put a baby on a prop or with a backdrop (although, it is adorable) and thankfully, she didn’t want that either. I told her that I was really interested in “Lifestyle Newborn Sessions” and she loved the idea!

Lifestyle newborn sessions, to me, consist of me coming to your home and photographing you with your little one in the most comfortable atmosphere you can be in.
